Why CO2GPT is Now FOR3ST

Because people thought we were a carbon-themed chatbot.

When we launched CO2GPT, our initial focus was clear: apply AI-powered content generation to bring greater intelligence and efficiency to the forest carbon ecosystem.

It was a natural starting point. As practitioners in AI and product, we saw an opportunity to simplify and automate some of the most time-consuming and manual parts of the workflow, helping project developers and stakeholders tell better, clearer carbon stories with less effort.

But as we spent more time with customers, partners, and domain experts - and as our MVP evolved, we recognized a deeper need for a more integrated and intelligent solution.

The real opportunity lies not just in content, but in building a comprehensive intelligence layer for forest carbon: one that supports monitoring, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making—all grounded in real-world data and delivered in real time.

So we made a change.

Our new name, FOR3ST, reflects where we’re headed: a full-stack, AI-powered platform purpose-built for forest carbon. It's designed to make carbon more measurable, transparent, and ultimately, investable.

The “GPT” label, while timely when we started, began to limit how people perceived our product. It often suggested a general-purpose chatbot, while our focus is far more targeted: unlocking actionable insights from complex forest data through domain-specific AI.

Rebranding as FOR3ST also helps us future-proof our identity as the generative AI landscape continues to evolve and ensures that our brand is aligned with the long-term value we’re here to create.
